That's time that isn't going to interpretation, advice, or the decisions that require expert judgement. When we entered the energy industry, we quickly discovered a firehose of regulatory updates pouring out of Ofgem, DESNZ, Elexon, and a dozen other bodies every single week. We needed to learn the landscape fast - and then stay on top of it. We had to understand what applied to us and what didn't.
So we built early automations to track it all. Knowing the direction of travel gave us an edge - we could see how the landscape was evolving and spot opportunities others were missing.
We don't have a regulatory team - we built automations instead. Joshua spent 10 years at THIS Workspace working directly with businesses before co-founding Meet George, a business energy switching platform. While building Meet George, he had to get up to speed on the UK energy regulatory landscape fast - and discovered first-hand how difficult it is to stay on top of the volume of change coming out of Ofgem, DESNZ, Elexon, and a dozen other regulatory bodies every week.
He built early automations to track and filter regulatory developments, and quickly realised the problem was bigger than the switching platform alone - every energy business faces the same challenge. That's what led to Policy Compass as a separate product. Joshua leads product strategy and energy industry partnerships, working directly with design partners to make sure the platform solves real problems for regulatory professionals.
